It has to begin with YOU!

A recent weekend started out with a typical Saturday morning.
Normally I try to catch up on my "honey do" list after I make a stop at my favorite coffee shop and take a glimpse at the front-page headlines to see what new allegations have surfaced in the growing church scandal.
On this particular day, a friend shared with me a couple of info sheets. The first announced the appearance of author, Michael Rose at a Catholics In Action Meeting at Executive Inn and the other concerned the Knights of Columbus’ efforts to extract an apology from local talk show host, John Ziegler for his outrageous attack on the Eucharist.
After reading the articles, I began to take a serious look at my priorities.
How much of my "to do" list includes defending my faith in the way Christ is calling me to do? How many of my "busy" activities, although well intentioned, prevent me from hearing the call? When was the last time I defended my Church against Catholic dissenters, instead of just complaining in the safety of the company of my closest friends?
Perhaps I should follow the lead of the Catholics In Action and Knights of Columbus groups, who are attempting to make a difference.
Maybe I should reprioritize my "to do" list and bring it in line with what the Holy Spirit is inviting me to do. Perhaps I should begin to really live and defend my faith.
As for you - when was the last time you rethought your priorities?
Over the last few years how many times have you or your friends said: "Why does the Church (or the Bishops) allow this to happen? Why don’t they do something?" Perhaps we need to add a question or two to this discussion.
Is Your Membership Current?
Thanks to all who have paid membership fees, volunteered to help

Prayer to St. Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil. Restrain him, O God, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin and destruction of souls. Amen
(Please pray daily)
