Another Controversial Record Ad
(Ed.’s note: The following article, submitted by a member of Catholics
In Action, correctly points out the pro-homosexual, anti family concessions
recently made by the local YMCA. The author is also correct in stating that
the Catholic Church has remained steadfast in opposition to Catholics belonging
to the Masonic Order.)
The September 26, 2002 issue of The Record ran a ˝ page ad promoting the local YMCA’s invitation for Catholics to join in a variety of activities including "Moon Bounces" and "Face Painting."
Why is this noteworthy? The national YMCA is initiating "family" rates for homosexual "couples" and others just shacking up beginning January 1, 2003. Running such an in your face ad when many churchmen, of various ranks, are exposed as homosexuals and a massive campaign of homosexual cover up by churchmen is brought to light sends a message that nothing has changed.
More importantly, a letter from the Holy Office of the Vatican of June 15, 1915 to the Bishops, called upon their vigilant attention because of special new machinations being directed against The Faith by anti-Catholic associations. The association particularly indicated is the YMCA, which on many occasions has been singled out as being fundamentally Masonic in the "Revue Internationale Des Societies Secretes."
A letter from the Holy Office dated November 5, 1920 particularly mentions that, according to it’s declaration of principles, the YMCA "intends to purify and spread a more perfect knowledge of real life placing itself above all churches and outside of any religious jurisdiction." Needless to say such anticlerical transcendentalism is the very manifestation of Masonic principles.
The Alta Vendita, one of the many sects under the Masonic umbrella, as Pope Leo XIII points out (1), makes no secret of Masonic plans declaring "Catholicism must be destroyed throughout the whole world….let us conspire only against Rome." (2) The stone inscription on the Masonic Grand Orient and Supreme Council of France notes that "The fight taking place between Catholism and Freemasonry is a fight to the very death, ceaseless and merciless."(3)
The Church has defined Masonry as "the abyss of all errors, the well of perdition."(4) Pope Pius IX labeled it "The Synagogue of Satan"(5) while Pope Leo XII termed Masons "First born of the devil."(6) It is surely worth noting that the 53 Vatican condemnations of Freemasonry and related secret societies from 1738 to 1984 specify ALL nations, very much including the U.S.!!!
Even post councilor churchmen have made their voices heard: On 11/26/83 with the approval of John Paul II, the Sacred Congregation reiterated the Church’s repeated condemnation of Masonry: "The Church’s negative position on Masonic association…remains unaltered, since their principles have always been regarded as irreconcilable with the Church’s doctrine… Catholics enrolled in Masonic associations are involved in serious sin and may not approach Holy Communion."
So why is The Record running ads inviting Catholics to join the YMCA which openly promotes homosexuality instead of warning us about the YMCA’s nature? Are the men running The Record really ignorant of Church teachings concerning Masonry and it’s fronts? If not, what would be the next logical question?
In view of The Record running ads for one anti-Catholic source
after another, including but not limited to rabidly pro-abortion and pro-homosexual
politicians Catholics might very well ask why it insists on being known by
the name Catholic—That’s with an upper case C…

Year of the Rosary
Pope John Paul II began the 25th year of his papacy on October 16th by updating the prayers of the Rosary. The Holy Father deemed this, the "Year of the Rosary".
For the first time in 500 Years the Vatican has made changes to the Rosary. The current version was standardized in the 16th century.
In addition to the five joyful mysteries, five sorrowful mysteries, and five glorious mysteries , Pope John Paul II asks Catholics to reflect on five "mysteries of light" on Sundays. These mysteries are:
According to the Holy Father the additions to the Rosary will give "fresh life" and renewed attention to the Rosary as a vital part of Christian spirituality.
